Highway earned Rs 13.5 crore, all-India NBOC, in its three-day weekend, which is fabulous for a film that had a limited release. We expect the evening and night shows to generate good returns as the film is being appreciated by the audience.
Brijesh Tandon, H K Tandon and Company, Delhi-UP
Highway cashed in Rs 3.25 crore in Delhi and UP. This is a multiplex film and hence the numbers it rang in are good. The single-screen audience is not enthusiastic about the film but the multiplex audience loves it.
Jaspal Dhingra, Nanaskar Enterprise, East Punjab
Highway dwells on a delicate social subject which has been woven together by a beautiful story. The film collected Rs 1.6 crore during the weekend and we expect decent numbers for its first week closing.
Debashish Dey, Aum Moviez, West Bengal
The film enjoyed a good weekend in West Bengal as it saw a limited release. The three-day weekend numbers were close to Rs 61 lakh in West Bengal and Rs 6.5 lakh in Assam. The evening and night shows today look highly promising.
Manoj Jain, Neha Movies, CI
The film enjoyed a decent run during its weekend and earned Rs 40 lakh. It’s not the kind of film that would do really well here as it doesn’t cater to the kind of audience in this territory. But it is a very good film.
B H Basha, Bahar Enterprises, Mysore
The film garnered Rs 1.25 crore in the Mysore circuit. For her second film, Alia Bhatt has performed unexpectedly well and Randeep Hooda is outstanding. Without doubt, Highway has impressed the audience. And considering the film has been made for the classes, the numbers it has generated are very good.

In Bihar, Highway netted Rs 14 lakh. It is aimed at the classes but despite that, the film generated good buzz here. Today’s numbers saw a drop but that is typical of Monday collections.
Jeetu Khandelwal, Pioneer Films, Orissa
Highway reeled in Rs 7.5 lakh in Orissa and is generating a good response from the audience. Imtiaz Ali has made a good film and fleshed out outstanding performances from his actors. Films like these are rare to watch and, with a limited release, distributors and the makers have played it smart.
